had the worst fucking day at work ever. some guys got into a fist fight and screamed at each other and then other people blamed ME like dude it's two large drunk guys and i a. can not stop them and b. uni student being paid minimum wage. what the fuck did you want me to do. that plus was alone with a full cafe, boss got mad at me because things were taking a while (I HAD 7 TABLES PLUS PEOPLE COMING TO GET ICE CREAM DUDE PLEASE) then some people left without paying so... had to pay for them. 4 hours of my shift down the fucking drain ♡

I book the weekend off for my birthday
They try to put me on reception
I say no
Then I get 3 shifts in the week
Barely 15 hours but it’s fine whatever
They take one of those shifts away because there’s only 8 for breakfast and there’s two of us in (my coworker has 6 shifts and yet I loose mine??)
I then get asked if I wanna work the weekend I’ve booked off because they’ve quite literally not scheduled ANYONE on for it
And only now noticed
Everyone else is busy and I’m now being pressured into cancelling birthday plans to work…
Istg I can’t wait to quit on Friday (I have a trial shift at their competition across the road and it’s so much nicer)
Been working as a waitress for a while now, and tonight, the evening shift was insanely busy. You are greeting people, taking orders, serving food, making drinks, cleaning tables, polishing glasses, and really just working in this unceasing flow of motion, gazing upon all who venture into the restaurant with an impartial eye. I finally understand just what Lana Del Rey was talking about in her song White Dress. I feel like a god.

some odd things that went down at work today
-a lady flipped out at me bc i wouldn't honor her expired-by-a-year coupon. she flipped out demanded the manager and kept repeating "if you dont honor it i dont tip" (thank GOD my manager didnt let her have her way, the satisfaction of not letting her get her way was better than any tip) but also the funny thing is she did all this in front of a party of 5 who were my next table, and they all tipped 25% on their checks- so id call that a W for me
-an older guy told me i could cure my stomach ulcers with apple cider vinegar
-i run around the entire restaurant trying to find Captain Morgan bc i didnt see it in the bar where it shouldve been (it was there- the bottle was just facing the other way🙃)
-guy told me i looked like a bird (complimentary- apparently?)
-i got called Wednesday by 3 separate mfs (bc i wore my black hair in twin braids, and apparently thats all it takes)
