Extremely niche post ahead
Me, reading BBC Merlin fan theories and fiction, knowing authors are unknowingly making some of the best arguments against gun control that I have ever heard:
#magic can be used to protect#Not just harm!#there is no evil in sorcery only in the hearts of men#it is no different from the sword you wield!#I find it real funny that none of y'all realize#Also the whole thing on how#The knights are different because the swore allegiance so i would trust them with magic not everyone#Oh so only authority figures get to have power and the common folk get screwd over#Wait no...#That's what I thought !#I know everyone thinks of magic as a metaphor for queer people but I'm sorry#Guns are such a better parallel and it's hilarious#Because idc if you guys headcanon that everyone born with magic didn't choose it#It is canonically false!#The only ones born with magic are#Merlin#And#Morgana#For everyone else is just something they choose to practice#So the gay methaphor works for them and literally no one else#And again that is very funny to me#bbc merlin#The only difference is that if you use a gun to defend yourself they don't kill you#OH WAIT
