Modern Vyrad AU, where Vincent is filming the brawl "just to show it Alisa later" (as he also called it in canon), but it ends up online.
When Alisa finds out, it's like:
Alisa: Malcolm, wtf happened to your face?
Malcolm: Oh, uhm nothing...bye!
Ivy: He got into a fight with Franz Leopold, of course! And he started it btw!
Alisa: What? That can't be!
Ivy: Yes it can! *holds up phone*
Two idiot vampires fighting over some sleeping girl [full video 4k]
Do you understand that we will never be the same again?
The future's in our hands and we will never be the same again
These are the things (oh-oh-oh) (these are the things), the things we lost (the things we lost)
These are the things we lost in the fire, fire, fire
Flames, they licked the walls (oh-oh-oh)
Tenderly, they turned to dust all that I adored
This song reminds me of the ending of Vyrad so much—and that in a quite hurtful way. I think it really captures the vibe of the end fight and Dracula's defeat amazingly.
This is in addition to the fact that after it all ends, literally everything is changing, as the song says.
However, it breaks me to think about this—especially the ending of the song—because, yeah, they lost things to the fire. Not quite literally, they lost a person to the sun, but given the fact that said person is a vampire the fire motive is very suiting.
Seymour literally lost all that he adored—his twin sister, who is his everything—to the flames and saw her turning to dust (or ash but whatever) right infront of his eyes.
Like, it's so painfully suiting for that scene, it hurts to listen.
MY SHEYLAS!! 😭

The church...
NOT THE CHURCH
Lord Byron's introduction to Clarissa in Vyrad felt like the preface of an old fanfic.
"Hello, my name is George Gordon Noel Baron Byron Dementia Raven Way, and this is the story of how I became a bloodsucking creature of the night."
Love that Vyrad (die erben der nacht #5) is listed as "challenging" on storygraph. Yeah, CHALLENGING YOUR LAST NERVE!
(My second favourite book ever after Dracas, btw)
