"things you said with no space between us" for tabristair? :3c if yr feelin up to it
Prompt List | Tabristair Masterpost
I think itâs pretty obvious that I am always up for some Tabristairâalthough, my brain kinda interpreted this one kind of strangely.
âSoââ Alistair strains his wrists against their binds, once again yielding no success. ââassuming we get out of this alive, letâs keep the rope out of the bedroom for a while, okay?â
Aeron rolls her eyes. âWhat do you mean, assuming? What happened to âmy wife is an unstoppable goddessâ?â
âIâll take that as a sign you have a plan for getting us out of here, or that maybe youâve hidden a knife somewhere that will help us now.â
Because wouldnât that be fortunate? Still, she is not entirely without a plan.
âThese chairs are made of wood. I donât know how old they are, but maybe ifââ Aeron jerks her body as hard to the left as possible. âAlistairââ
âWhat?â
âOn three, I need you to move in the same direction as I am, as hard as you can.â
âYou want me to what?â
âIf we can knock the chairs overâif we can make it fall hard enough, we might be able to break the chairsââ
âThatâs your plan?â Alistair asks, a genuine note of nervousness in his voice. âAre you sure you donât have a knife hidden in your clothes somewhere?â
âOn three,â Aeron insists. âJerk to your right, push with your left foot. Got it?â
âMy right?â
âYes.â
âWhich would beââ
âMy left. Ready?â
âIâŚâ Alistair lets out a short, sharp breath. âOkay.â
âOkay.â Aeron nods a little. âOne. Twoââ
The bound chairs tilt but remain upright. Without needing to speak, they try again, and again, and again, putting their combined weight into it. Itâs their fifth attempt that does the trick. The Wardens fight the flutter in their stomachs as they experience the fall, the sudden stop of hitting the floor. Aeronâs vision briefly fills with stars given life from her headâs brief bounce against the floorboards.
âAlright,â she groans, âthat was not part of the plan.â
