This image, and basically everything I’ve sketched for Inktober this year is borne from copious ammounts of very beautifully written stories of both canon and alternate universe. One of them I’m reading right now is called Anomalous Point, which you can read over on AO3, wherein Keith had been born on Daibazaal and raised lovingly with both of his parents in the blade and assigned as Allura’s bodyguard. There are other Bodyguard:Keith stories out there, but this is the most recent one I’ve read.

I’ve also been fiddling around with the magical and medieval world genres and have been playing around with the paladin armour designs to make some kind of cross between their canon armour and medieval paladin&knight armour while basing the designs off of each paladin’s respective lion....I have quite a few sketches.

But as a result: I’ve got this random medieval voltron story where I am totally screwing with the timeline just for funsies and because I can:

Where Keith has been bodyguard to the Holt dukedom since his young training days to Sovereign Princess Katheryne(Pidge) - no, I don’t care how her full first name is spelled - Young daughter of Duke Samuel. Her father and brother were called by the King, Alfor, to the front lines as well as Keith’s mentor, Sir Shirogane and while they were away, a group of vagabonds from the rivaling Galra Empire attacked her home. As well as the Grand Castle Altea.
