Most of my glasses were about an hour I think time longest glass was Animal anatomy and physiology 1. Term 2 consisted of 3 glasses for me. That being Clinical medicine, Animal Technology 2 and Clinical laboratory.
Clin med was mostly about breeds this term. Learning all types of cows, horses, pigs, cats, and dogs,no exotics at all. They touch alittle on exotics later in the programs. The course also went over vaccines and illnesses like feline leukemia and why some may require vaccines and others don’t.
Animal tech went over blood draws, injections , and catheters. I did a good amount of blood draws and saline injections in this class. I very informative but alittle disorganized. Which could be stressful depending on what type of learner you are and the teacher teaching methods. No catheters are done on real animals btw.
Clin lab is learning and using the microscope. Getting comfortable and used to it. The way my teacher preferred us to learn help me feel ALOT more comfortable with them by the times finals came around. She just had days where that was the only thing we were using and she’d help if needed. Other than that, Red blood cells, alittle about white blood cells, the lifespan of them, and the difference between species of cell lifespans. If you like cells you’ll be good in this class.
A&P 1 goes over basic knowledge of the animal body such as muscles, nerves, bones, skin and directional terms like caudal, dorsal, cranial etc.
