VTGCLT pop up Winter Market at The Fillmore Charlotte
Just in time for the holiday season, Vintage Charlotte put on its fifth annual Winter Market Pop Up Event at The Fillmore Charlotte. It’s an amusing and eclectic journey that merges the past with local craftsmen who are helping to shape our modern city.
On display were Crochet Cactus (By Studio 1859) and beautifully designed handmade jewelry (Twenty Two West among others). However, one of the stand out booths (Powder Studio) housed a ceramic studio that designs practical, yet artistic pieces. My favorite piece is called the ‘Choir’ Tea Lights which features a ceramic mouth that swallows your tea light candle.
On the vintage side, there were many treasures to be found. Each shopper was given the chance to find their own style through this curated set of vintage gems. There were also a good number of vendors who offered funky and retro clothes, like Raleigh Vintage and Vintage by Kitty. These vendors brought their own style to the clothes they offered and gave us the chance to perk up our own wardrobes.
In a truly classy move, Sans Map was able to merge both worlds of vintage and hand-crafted. I really loved her story of taking vintage clothing and transforming each garment into beautifully made bags and accessories.
