Coffee!

Coffee is our resident nervous bean but he's a total sweetheart. He always tries his best and wants to grow as a person. He adores video games and lounging on the couch with a good movie! If you're willing to play video games with him, he's your friend (or more) for life!

Coffee would love your casual style and don't worry, you don't need to fear rejection from him! He's not one for rejecting others over small things! He has an intensely gentle nature and would love nothing more than to sit on the couch with you watching a movie! Coffee's a total sweetheart who will do his best to communicate with you. It might take a little time but he will always get there!

Was there a love language that revolved around baking food? Cause if there was, that was definitely yours. 

You and Honey had been a couple for a while now, and you adored every second spent with him. He was such a sweetheart, always there to listen and offer comfort… whether that be in sweets or physical affection, you got both in abundance.

Well today you were going to flip the script. He always baked treats for you, so why not do the same for him? This was a constant, repeating occurrence between you both. The two of you constantly making something for each other. 

Yes, you both baked… but Honey baked far more frequently. The kitchen at both his house and yours was his domain. 

But never the less, you could occasionally wheedle him into letting you provide the sweets every once in a while. (This time, it was just going to be a surprise).  

And you weren’t going to take the easy way out either. No, no. Your date-mate deserved only the best, so you were going to do it from scratch. 

Homemade. 

The same way he always did for you. 

And you didn’t regret it either. Okay.. the kitchen was maybe a little messier than you would have liked, but that was easy enough to fix, and the smell coming from the oven was heavenly.  

A sweet, cinnamony aroma. Reminding you of good memories, both old and new. Spending time with loved ones and sharing something sweet. …It made you think of baking snickerdoodle cookies as a kid and watching Honey pull out trays of fresh pastries and desserts.  

And while cinnamon buns were technically Star’s favorite, making them was Honey’s specialty. So why not try your hand at it? At least it wouldn’t go to waste.  

Honey baked so often at his and Star’s house that you could always faintly detect a hint of something sweet within the very air itself. And on the occasions when he did commandeer your kitchen, the same thing would happen. But because it wasn’t as frequent, the lovely aroma never hung around for very long. 

You decided to savor it while you could. 

Taking the trays out of the oven to cool, you got to work on the sweet glaze to spread over them, knowing it wouldn’t take long to finish. 

And as soon as everything was done, you could place the still-warm treats into your inventory and head over to Honeys with them. …It’s not like they would dry out or get cold on the way over. (Monster tech really was amazing). 

As you drove, you couldn’t help but grin as you got closer to the right neighborhood. So what if it had only been a day or two since you had last seen your date-mate? That was practically a lifetime with how much you liked the guy. 

He had given you a key to the house a while ago, but you usually still knocked, both out of habit and politeness. At least wanting to give the guys a heads-up if you hadn’t been specifically invited or texted that you were coming over. 

Star answered the door, offering an impish grin and an affectionate hug before telling you that Honey was in the kitchen and would be out in just a second before disappearing himself. 

Stepping in and heading towards the living room, you could detect the faint scent of cinnamon in the air, but didn’t really think much of it. There was always the aroma of something sweet in the air.  

Setting the still-warm cinnamon buns on the coffee table in front of you, you settled in to wait, knowing it wouldn’t take Honey long to come in and say hello. 

Sure enough, after only a minute or two, you heard familiar footsteps making their way toward you coming from the kitchen. What was surprising was that he randomly stopped without saying anything. 

Glancing over your shoulder, you saw his eyelights locked on the plate in front of you with the small mountain of cinnamon buns sitting on it. At the same time, you noticed a plate in his hands, similarly covered in its own pyramid of the sweet cinnamony treat. 

After a moment of shock, you both locked eyes… and started to giggle. It quickly fell into snickers, and finally, full-blown belly laughs at the coincidence. 

It ended with you eventually doubling over on the couch, breathless from your laughter, and Honey with faint tear tracks streaming down his face.   

Still letting out slight huffs of amusement, he finally made his way toward the couch, setting his plate next to yours, bringing another round of laughter from the two of you. The comparison of the two plates holding cinnamon buns being nearly indistinguishable from each other was too much for you both to handle, and you collapsed into each other, hysterical laughter breaking out once more. 

It was only a few minutes later when you both realized how odd it was that Star hadn’t come to investigate after hearing all the laughter and “demanding” to know what the joke was. (He had never really gotten over teasing you both).

Sudden realization seemed to hit Honey, and he gasped before leaping up and sprinting towards the kitchen, you not being far behind but already having a suspicion as to where you were going to find Star. 

As expected, you pass through the door to find Star absolutely feasting on the extra trays of cinnamon buns. After a second of shock, Honey snapped out of it, reaching out to snatch his energetic gremlin of an older brother, while Star just laughed and took a shortcut, taking the trays with him. 

Hearing a rare swear from Honey and an empty promise about not making any more cinnamon buns for Star for the rest of his life, you can’t help but giggle again. Finding amusement in all the chaos and coincidence. 

Your first kiss with him was definitely unexpected. If anyone had asked, you'd say it happened completely by chance, even.

You'd become friends with the skeleton after he and his brother Sans had just moved into town. As luck would have it, you were neighbors, and you remembered going next door to ask if they wanted any help with moving things into their new house. The offer was accepted, so while Sans busied himself with unloading the moving truck (you... Honestly weren't sure if he'd actually moved anything, since you were pretty sure you heard snoring at some point), you helped Papyrus move boxes to their designated rooms. He was quite the chatterbox, and it wasn't long before you'd already come to know quite a bit about him

Of course, you also answered questions about yourself, since he seemed like the curious type, and questions were to be expected. The day had passed faster than you'd anticipated, and yet, there was still so much work to be done. The rest of their belongings were moved into the garage, and you promised to come back and help them tomorrow. You kept your promise, and even after all their things had made it into the house and reached their designated locations, you found yourself still visiting the pair of skeletons whenever possible. Whether it was for dinner, binging a show, or just goofing off, you were always happy to see them

It'd been quite a while since then, and your first kiss with Papyrus happened on new year's eve, as cliche as it might sound. You'd invited the brothers and some of your other friends over to watch the ball drop. As the time grew nearer and nearer to midnight, some of your friends became excited and started gushing about how awesome it'd be to receive a new year's kiss from the people that they each had feelings for. While Sans seemed pretty well versed on various human traditions and whatnot, Papyrus was very clearly at a loss

You excused yourself from the room, heading out to your kitchen to get a drink. What you hadn't been expecting was for Papyrus to follow you. When you turned to see him, you were given a tiny scare, which he promptly offered his apologies for. He was forgiven, and you'd felt inclined to ask if he needed something. He declined, and told you that he'd just wanted to ask you about the new year's kiss tradition that he'd overheard your friends talking about. He didn't understand the significance of it, and you did your best to explain. You told him that if you wanted to spend the year with someone special, you'd kiss them at midnight. It'd been a while since you thought much about it so you forgot a bunch of the details, but you figured that was probably not a big deal

He'd made a sound in understanding, and then repeated everything back to you to make sure he's gotten it right. When you told him that he nailed it, he puffed up the tiniest bit, seeming proud of himself for learning something new. You smiled and started to head back to the living room, but were stopped as he stepped in front of you, effectively blocking your path. You looked up at him in confusion, blinking as he reached out to gently hold both of your shoulders

You asked Papyrus what he was doing, and he offered you a big, bright smile, his cheekbones flushing a faint shade of orange as he stated that he wished to spend the new year with you. Heat rushed to your face and you began attempting to explain that the tradition was usually a romantic sort of thing, but he leaned down, silencing you as he pressed his teeth against your lips

When he pulled away a moment later, you stared at him with wide eyes, your face now entirely flushed. He tilted his head, gently ruffling your hair, and you shrunk back a little, still embarrassed and in shock. Not at all bothered by what just happened, he looked at the clock you had mounted on a nearby wall, furrowing his brow bones. Papyrus seemed to contemplate something for a minute before he hummed, "WELL, IT LOOKS LIKE I MIGHT'VE DONE THAT A LITTLE TOO SOON. IT'S NOT YET MIDNIGHT, SO I BELIEVE WE'LL NEED TO DO IT AGAIN IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE AS EFFECTIVE AS POSSIBLE."

You sighed, your face still burning as you gave him a sheepish smile, telling him that he could if he really wanted to. You made sure to emphasize that he didn't have to, but he was quick to shush you, placing a hand over your mouth, "THAT IS COMPLETE NONSENSE. I KNOW ALL ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS OF KISSING, AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT I MOST DEFINITELY WOULD LIKE TO DO IT AGAIN."

That... Wasn't the response you were expecting. You told him he didn't have to kiss you again, since the tradition had always seemed kind of silly to you and you didn't want him to get the impression that it was normal for friends to go around kissing each other. He'd basically just admitted that he understood the significance of kissing, and that he wanted to do it again

He understood, and he actually wanted to kiss you. You, specifically. Your heart skipped a beat and you gave a tiny nod, smiling sheepishly. He was funny and compassionate, genuine and unique, and he was such a sweetheart... He was what you considered the perfect guy. If he liked you enough to want to kiss you again, you weren't gonna complain
