FIRST COURSE NARRATIVE – The UDBS met with IDeATe students on Wednesday, January 22nd, to discuss the opportunities afforded by various Virtual Reality representation methods to tell the comprehensive story of the First Course Kiosk. It was really exciting and enlightening to hear the IDeATe students talk about how some of the ideas we have could be manifested using technology. Things like raspberry pi’s, virtual “teleportation”, and stereo-graphically correct 360 time-lapse video were the topic of discussion. Many of these technologies were new to members of the UDBS. During this meeting, we also worked out how we, the UDBS, would record 360-degree time-lapse footage, and how the IDeATe students could work with the footage to create an interactive virtual reality interface.
