idk in a general sense it’s definitely my headcanon that he depends on her without even fully realizing it; that she provides for him on a constant basis under the radar, everything from telling him his shoelaces are undone to remembering what flavor of ice cream he likes when he forgets it to fixing the holes in his hive, and it’s so normal to him that he doesn’t realize how much it frustrates her, that THAT’S why she’s always mad at him

and that he helps her with sweeping gestures, usually monetary but occasionally emotional, that he shows up uninvited at her hive with six movies and a board game whenever vriska’s done something to upset her (while conveniently not mentioning that vriska’s done something to hurt him too until it’s late in the afternoon and he starts crying into her throw pillows and she’s the only one he trusts to fix it, she sits by him and weakly pats his wrists and blushes, he’s making an embarrassment of himself and she has no idea how to console someone so desperately lonely and self-absorbed) and tells her hes there for her, kan, havve you got any vvideo games, and loses on purpose because he doesn’t know how to be a good moirail but he knows how to be a negligent father like nobody else

and it’s so fitting to see them as a stereotypical mom and dad because the matriorb, really it’s kinda creepy when you think that he destroyed the unborn legacy he promised he’s help her create, jUST SAYING—

and yes ok a lot of it is wanting aranea to be sad and nostalgic about tavros’s positive relationship with nervous doting tinkerbull and supportive nerdy older brother rufioh, while she has the demanding abusive spidermom and a sad violent younger sister

Well, maybe Vriska is a slight exaggeration - I don't think my mom has ever said anything quite as blatant as "I'M DOING S8METHING F8CKING IMPORTANT! AND WHEN I DO SOMETH8NG FUCKING IMPORT8NT, EVERY88DY 8ETTER D8MN WELL PAY ATT8NTION TO ME!!!!!!!!" when she's throwing a tantrum because the people aren't catering to her whims.
