‘A je to!’ Loop je samen met je buurjongen en vriend door de stad, kom je de legendarische Buurman & Buurman tegen die een plaatselijk straatnaambordje vervangen. Aan de Reguliersgracht waren de twee van oorsprong Tsjecho-Slowaakse klushelden druk bezig. Maar of het goed gaat….. De eerste afleveringen werden al in 1976 uitgezonden in Tsjechoslowakije onder de naam Pat & Mat. Vanaf 1984 werden afleveringen uitgezonden in Nederland. Kees Prins en Sem van Leeuwen verzorgden de stemmen in de Nederlandse afleveringen. Overigens is Nederland en van de weinige landen waar de figuren spreken tijdens de afleveringen. De kreet ‘A je to!’ is Tsjechisch voor ‘En dat is het’. ———— While walking with your neighbour and friend you spot the legendary ‘Buurman en Buurman’. The Czech children series has been around since 1976 and has been broadcasted in The Netherlands since 1984. Originally the series was called ‘Pat a Mat’ or ‘Pat & Mat’ in English. It shows two neighbours who try to fix things, but in the end they always fail. Yesterday I did an interview with VPRO in Holland with Robert Lagendijk to discuss the new album collab by JG Thirlwell + Simon Steensland. He turned me onto these intense vintage photos he took of Wiseblood in Amsterdam at the Paradiso in 1987. I noticed I was still wearing a bandage on my hand - I cut my finger open during a concert in Bielefeld and ended up covering myself and half the audience in blood.
