Hey! Today’s a great day to understand your voting rights. 🇺🇸
➡️ According to the ACLU, examples of voter intimidation could include:
Anyone who is hostile to you or other voters while you are waiting in line or at your polling place
Someone questioning your citizenship status or criminal record in an attempt to get you not to vote
A person falsely posing as an election official
Misleading information about voter fraud or requirements to vote
If you experience voter intimidation at the polls on Election Day, or you are told you cannot vote for any reason, call:
866-OUR-VOTE or 866-VE-Y-VOTA,
the Election Protection Hotline. It is available in multiple languages. See below for voter protection hotlines by state.
➡️ Reminders for when you get to the polls:
If you are in line, stay in line. As long as you were in line before polls closed, you will be allowed to vote.
If they say you are not registered and you know you are, ask for a provisional ballot. They are required to give you one. Fill it out and it will be counted after they confirm your registration.
