thatâs the solitude of experience. Iâve been thinking a lot about it after the Hunger Games. the reason Katniss stayed with Peeta, and most of the tributes preferred to stick to each other is they shared very unique experience, very specific trauma. As much as Lucy loves and trusts her teammates, her experience isolates her from them, in a way. But now she has Flynn.
Definitely the case here. It also helps theyâre no longer moral antagonists: Lucyâs moved to a more belligerent, activist method of fighting Rittenhouse and is willing to get her hands dirty, whereas Flynnâs coming out of his pushing himself into extremism that proved unnecessary and is taking a more moderate position closer to the man he used to be. Their paths are crossing now, and theyâre fighting side by side both physically and psychologically. #QuiteTheTeam. As Lucy says in 2x04, sheâs figured out what sheâs not willing to do, and I think Flynn, after last year, likewise has done so.   With respect to THG, youâre right on that. Iâve got reams and reams and reams of headcanon and meta about how the victors bond through a rare shared ordeal, and especially how Haymitch and Johanna in particular have a unique traumatic bond of âseemingly unsympathetic Capitol rejects who fell apart because Snow killed everyone they love because they didnât play by the rulesâ. Itâs a specific facet of their experiences that they canât share with Finnick or Katniss, for example, in the same way Lucy now has things about her captivity and deep dive into the darkness that she canât fully and empathetically share with Wyatt or Rufus, but she can with Flynn. Â
