Some weeks ago, i got a mail informing me of Food For All Africa Programme's nomination for the "Social Enterprise of the year" category in the just ended Premium Bank Ghana Startup Awards. It was a great feeling and i felt that we deserved not just the nomination but the award too. I set out to make that a reality by coming up with the campaign strategy in order to gunner the needed votes to carry the day. It wasn't an easy 14days campaign. From people asking to be paid to vote - abuses and the likes, i kept hope alive. When i believe in something, i cling to it like the entire fate of the world depended on it. I admit that i became a lil bit of a pain in the behind of most friends and even strangers(posted the campaign messages in groups i was part of and even pages too) but had a support from a few friends and family. To confess, most volunteers and team members felt it was not possible for Food For All to take the award on the night but i just couldn't forsee us not winning. Got to the point where i had to beg - not because they didn't believe in what we did, but just the unwilling behaviour of most africans to support their own. @cudjoe97 was solidly behind me as my campaign partner(he was campaigning before even getting details of what the award was about and what to expect from it). The support of family counts in all things we do. I actually stood up the moment our category was mentioned, ready to receive the award - true to that feeling and voice of encouragement, we were the WINNERS... Never lose HOPE... No matter what you hear/feel/see - filter out and keep God's WORD... That is all we need. Thank you all who voted and believe in Food For All... We are who we are because you believe and stand by us... Signed #VolunteerCoordinator - Eli Ark #Food4AllAfrica #eliosophy #FoodDonorsBill #ghanastartupawards www.foodforallafrica.org
