So Voleta is my DnD character in my current campaign! He's a high elf rogue w/ the mastermind subclass (currently level four)

FUN FACT ABOUT ELVES #1: In my DM's lore (which is technically my lore bc my dm was like yeah nova do whatever you want with the lore) elves start off as animals and get educated into sentience - with the animal they were as their "base animal"

Voleta's base animal is this weird displacer beast/dog hybrid called a Ralenak and they're weird little creatures and also hermaphrodites (Omg that's what Voleta is wowwww)

They were born educated as third in line into this superrrrr rich family in the northern city of Ayleerport, where their parents are King (Acheron) and Queen (Aytia). In Ayleerport, it is the third in line’s responsibility to protect their older siblings, the first in line and spare, so Voleta was taught a myriad of skills, excelling mostly in hiding in the shadows until someone comes, and using that sneak advantage to take down possible assassins and the like.

Their dad wasn’t the best though, and eventually, when Voleta was 52 (mentally around 10), their mum, Queen Aytia, attempted to escape, with their two older siblings taking their two younger siblings, and Voleta with their mum. Therefore, when their father caught up to the two riding away on horseback, Voleta was the only one who saw their father shoot their mother.

FUN FACT ABOUT ELVES #2: When an elf experiences extreme trauma, it takes a physical toll on them, leading to their physical development “stunting” and making them appear more animalistic.

(For Voleta this manifests as him having more pronounced canines, a snout like shape to their face, more expressive ears, and larger feet than average)

Unfortunately, Voleta’s family did not see their dad, King Acheron, kill their mum, meaning literally no one believes them and they all think Voleta has more than a few screws loose.

Acheron spent the next 43 years keeping a very close eye on Voleta (sounds like a lot, but Voleta’s now ≈19 mentally), before eventually deciding they were too much of a liability to keep around the castle and sending them to the temple of Enki, the Elven god of water.

But it’s hard to keep a close eye on a rogue. During those 43 years, (specifically when Voleta was 76) they adopted a lizard, deciding that if they could prove that they were a better parent than their father, they could probably kick him out of power. 15 year old logic, what can I say? So they adopted a lizard, called it Craig, and started raising it to be a proper elf. (It sorta worked? The lizard is sentient, but it’s not an elf lol)

ANYWAYS Voleta’s dad kicked them to the curb (unrelated to the kid thing, Acheron didn’t actually know about Craig), and they were forced to abandon their son, who attempted to follow them, but he got egregiously lost, so…

Voleta spent time at the temple where they met Gyser, who was played by someone who left the campaign, and then they left the temple to get Craig, who was not at the castle so they kinda just left and got super drunk for several months and then came to this town named Fireland that was covered in this weird freaky fire.

THEN FREAKING GYSER AND CRAIG SHOWED UP, but Voleta didn’t recognise Craig bc they were drunk and Craig was going by Krig and had grown up a substantial amount. There was also Nephius who was an absolutely feral wood elf and Voleta was like “this bitch needs to learn some manners” and adopted them.

Then like nine months later they realised that Krig was their kid and there was plot development with the fires and now they’re back at Voleta’s childhood castle to ask about the cult that their dad and mum were apparently a part of.

Most of my art for them is in my sketchbook lol and out of all my DnD characters, I’ve made them in the least amount of Picrews and drawn them the most so y’know the obsession is real lol
