(2/3) Once my first #album was out, it came to everyone’s surprise in my friend group that I had interest in being a musician. Music has always been a part of me. So hearing this surprise opened my eyes to the fact that I had let other forms of art take precedence. I didn’t like the way this felt. I felt like I had given #music the short end of the stick. And suddenly, within less than 6 months, my album #VOFW didn’t feel like me. And it didn’t feel like enough. I needed to put out more. And I didn’t want to wait years and years. I threw myself into my music. And by October of 2012, a mere ten months later, I had written, and recorded what would soon become known as “Hit and Run”, my #folk inspired second album. It was short, but different. Gentler. It wasn’t overproduced like my first. And it worked. My sales from my first album to my second album, tripled. I knew I was doing something right.
