On an estimated altitude of about 53 miles (86 kilometers), Unity made it above the surface of the Earth. Some may object to it being lower than the commonly accepted definition of space that begins from 62 miles (100 kilometers). However, the US military and NASA have set the dividing line at 50 miles up (80 kilometers). For space tourism purposes, one gets to experience weightlessness while looking down on our home planet set against the black void of space.
