170605-N-RC734-070 by U.S. Pacific Fleet Via Flickr: PACIFIC OCEAN (June 5, 2017) An AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 161 (reinforced), provides air support to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during a simulated straits transit as part of Certification Exercise (CERTEX). San Diego is currently underway conducting CERTEX as part of the third and final phase of qualifications for their upcoming deployment.
