Running around Koblenz station the other evening, I couldn't resist the cute message on this local train. Instead of a deadpan "depot" or "not taking passengers", this train is "going to bed"!

Vlexx at Oberwesel; Railcar Skirts the City Walls
Standing on the Oberwesel city walls last September, I made this digital photograph of a Vlexx diesel-railcar gliding along the Rhein.
A cloud obscured the sun so I made some adjustments in Lightroom to temper the effect of the changing light.

Wir fahren jetzt mit Überschallgeschwindigkeit die Bahnhöfe an und sind in Gonsenheim wieder pünktlich. In Wirklichkeit sind wir eben erst in Rüsselsheim abgefahren. Aaaah ... ich sehe gerade, dass der #vlexx Pilot an der Steuereinheit des Fluxkompensators rumfummelt. Ich kann nur froh sein, dass ich in #Mainz relativ pünktlich angekommen bin. Zwei von zwei #vlexx Zugeinheiten waren schadhaft, die in Mainz ausgetauscht werden. Normalerweise wird die Fahrt in so einem Fall ersatzlos gestrichen. Hatten sie wohl zufälligerweise noch einen Ersatzzug stehen. Jeden Tag was Neues.
