I have an unpopular opinion. They game was slow and we sat back a lot however Im not mad about that or confused. The weather in Japan is brutal runners are passing out, tennis players are passing out and today we did not need a hero. We did not need to risk the health of our players to get out of the group alive. Which, I know is not something that we are used to as fans but if you think about it, I think women's soccer has come to a point where the United States can not strong hold every team they have to be more tactical. They have not played real competition with Vladko as head coach. We need to sit back and give him a chance. We are not going to get Jill Ellis coaching which was to put in the same starting 11 until they literally can’t play anymore.  The only real issue with this game was the passing they need to connect more and once they do that they will be fine. They show up when they have to and they haven’t had to yet. We did not need to crush NZ or AUS 13-0 like we did Thailand. They have nothing to prove.  In conclusion, I understand why we sat back all be it boring as hell I get it. I wouldn’t want a player to get hurt in the group stage when they want to play so much more.
