           what  is  she  seeing? who  was  this?  it  looks  like  her  boss  but  it’s  not.   she’s  stepping  back  nervously  teeth  curling  up  slightly  snarling.

Its been days-- no weeks since the scientist last slept, his eyes burning as he kept his work going. He didn’t want to sleep- not until he finished this dreadful device. He needed to get it done...but there wasn’t a deadline- he wanted it done of his own free will. 

Fiddling with little tools and sharp blades, he lifted up what he assumed the finish product was. It looked as if to be a ray gun- silver and white with a green trim around it. He was too tired, but he stood up from his work space- in his lazy day attire which was a massive NASA hoodie, a pair of sweatpants and rainbow socks; not even his bag was on his head, his hair messy and light brown, his face light and covered in freckles. He did wear his goggles, as if they were prescription glasses. 

After a pause in standing, he pointed the ray and fired, a green swirling portal appearing before him- it...it worked!!! He giggled manically, searching around for his bag and finding it on the table. He placed it upon his head and walked through it. The feelings was strange and it was unsettingly quiet but he seen the end of the vortex. He stepped out- a bit dizzy from the walk as he looked around- his lab? Did the device work? Or did it just- take him home? 

His eyes narrowed around, the smell of metal and...rot? filled the air. No- this wasn’t his lab--
