We Deserve Better, We Demand Better
The victim-blaming, the silencing, the degrading, the isolation, the feeling of being completely alone in your very real pain are issues that translate in both the “real” and “virtual” worlds. “Virtual” threats are still threats and “virtual” harassment is still harassment. How do we, women, engage with sexual harassment and trolling in a way that will not leave us feeling helpless but powerful and engaged in action? How can we get our judicial system to wake up? We demand social media education for law enforcement. We demand to be heard. We march. We scream. We demand our voices be heard. We continue to stand together against the evils against us. We refuse turn on one another. We refuse to flinch in the face of opposition. We refuse to let them tell us, we refuse to believe, we are any less worthy of respect. We are women. We are strong. We are powerful. We are beautiful. We are greater than their abuse. We deserve the honor that we are due. We deserve better. We DEMAND better. Women, let’s put an end to social media abuse and harassment!
