So, @vertamus-ad-meliora (sry it don’t like your url) was asking for an update about my first idea post, though it was much to long to be a comment. So here it is!
First, I am hoping to publish at least a chapter (mayhaps a one-shot for now) sometime soon, we’ll see.
I think in contrast to the og idea, the PJO kids will still be Hyrda, but they weren’t ‘made’ with the intentions of opposing the Avengers (timeline makes no sense that way- Jason and Annabeth have been there for 10+ years). Instead, they were just a side project apart from the Super Soldiers one.
I want them to keep their original/similar powers as the books. This gives better freedom for that.
But I like that the demigods still kind of have a pair-up of Avengers, even if they’re not ‘foils’ per se. Focusing less-so on their powers, and more so on their personalities.
So here’s the updated ‘pairings:’
Tony - Leo: both ADHD inventors, I feel they’d get along great (and Tony’s lab is probs fire-proof, so Leo would cause chaos)
Jason - Thor: They both don’t get pop culture references, and their powers similarities would also be a bonding factor. (Though Steve might be a secondary, I like the idea of them being more father/son, whereas Thor might treat Jason more like a little brother).
Frank - Bruce: Both more level-headed, quiet, and force to be reckoned with. Bruce could help with Frank’s rough transformations, since the Hulk, and they could bond over that unique aspect of their powers.
Percy - Steve: Both ‘leaders,’ righteous in a way, just trying to do what’s best for their team (family.) Percy would be a latter edition to Hydra, and would still hold a strong sense of ‘rightness’ in contrast to Hydra’s teachings. I think Percy would ask hard questions that Steve has the best way of answering.
Piper - Natasha: Maybe? Since Piper really only has her charm speak as a power, she’d have to rely heavily on hand-to-hand, which is hard when all the others have physical powers to fall back on. Nat would offer to train her? She’s the newest kid, meaning she had less Hydra training time before the Avengers. IDK, honestly.
Nico - Clint: I think Clint would be the one to seek Nico out when he withdraws. He wouldn’t be ‘too much’ or try to dig too deep- Father’s instinct. I think they’d be a good lowkey pair.
Annabeth - I have no idea. Maybe also Bruce (big brains), I could see Steve further down the line, maybe Clint, but I’m honestly not sure with her.
