Imagine.....

You sat at the diner, textbooks surrounding you as you studied relentlessly for the history test you had coming up. You didn’t know why you took history as an undergrad especially since you barely liked it in high school but you thought it would be easy since you passed the course without trying. Boy were you wrong. The course was full of memorization and dates and people and the empires constantly changing because the Emperors wanted their capital city to be named after them even though they’d only live for a short while.

Your hair sat on top of your head twisted into a messy bun, a few annoying strands that you missed kept falling into your face annoying you. Grumbling under your breath you yank your hair out of the bun and tidy it up making sure to stuff those pesky strands through the hair band. Cracking your neck and shaking your wrists you then went back to typing up the notes that were written in a notebook beside your laptop, you would have had them typed up already but you forgot your laptop at your flat since you were in a rush trying to get to the lecture on time, you were lucky you still carried around pens and a notebook or you would have been screwed.

So here you were, on Valentine’s Day sitting in a diner trying to distinguish what your horrid handwriting read. This was at least better than sitting on your couch watching romance movies criticizing the protagonist and their love interest and how their relationship was not realistic and how it would probably end in a few months or have some serious issues. You sigh grabbing your milkshake and taking a long sip of it, as you were drinking a man came up next to you and smiles brightly, confusedly you smiled back with the straw still between your lips. “Hi, umm, I know this is weird and really straightforward but I was wondering if you weren’t waiting for someone or completely busy with studying that I could possibly sit and join you for some food?” The man asks with his cheeks tinting a bright red, you smile at him gently. “I guess I can take a break from studying, my name is (Y/N).” You introduce yourself with a dazzling smile, the man looks at you stunned by your agreement to having some food with him. “I’m Vik.” He introduces himself and clumsily sat in the seat across from you.

“So, how did you hurt yourself?” You ask as you peer at the attractive man, he blushes slightly and laughs at the memory. “A few days ago I was skiing with some friends, I tried to jump a slope and I broke my collarbone. I had to go for surgery and now I’ve got 6 screws in.” Vik explains, you just nod your head and smile at the story. “Guess you learned your lesson.” You joke causing him to laugh, the waitress came by the table and proceeded to take yours and Viks orders. When she left, the two of you were deep a in conversation about your favourite tv shows, and also talking about your deepest dreams and what you’d like to do with your life. That night you didn’t get to finish typing up your notes, you were too busy talking with Vik and drinking milkshakes and sharing fries.
