I somewhat recently started playing one of my favourite PSOne-games again and I didn't really realize how much I had actually missed it until the main theme kicked in at the start screen.
It's kinda fun how something as "simple" as a short piece of music can generate so many happy and nostalgic feelings. The game I'm talking about is Breath Of Fire 3 and it's with out a doubt one of my top 3 favourite games. It has a great story, really fun gameplay and pretty convincing characters (and let's not forget the dragons! :D). But what really made this game stand out and be special for me was the music.
While most other games in jrpg genre have soundtracks based on orchestral music, BoF3's soundtrack has more of a jazzy character. And in some strange way that made the whole game feel a lot cozier. I mean, just listen to the world map-music:

And this, that plays in some of the more high-tech areas of the game:

Completley different music than in many other games, but unlike a lot of other people (especially reviewers around the time the game was released) I just think this made the game all the more memorable. Thnak you Yoshino Aoki and Akari Kaida. The game wouldn't be this special without you.
