he slowly saw that their nightmares were his dreams // DARK ROOM VERSE @victory-chase
The first thing she felt every time she woke in the dark room was the sting of where the needle entered her soft flesh. Her conscious was foggy, her body heavy on the white floor in front of the camera. The bright lights focused on her shape caused her eyes to strain, she frowned as she kept her eyes closed and groaned quietly. How long had she been there? She couldn’t count the days and nights without a window and for as long as she had been down there it felt like she would never be able leave. Her hope had been broken for quite some time and she couldn’t imagine how much more use Mark could get out of her until he decided to end it. It could be days, weeks, years even. All she knew is that if she were to die here she wouldn’t fight it.
Rachel tilted her head away from the light that shown directly in front of her sleeping figure, hesitantly opening her hazel eyes. It was blurry at first, her eyes needing a moment to focus on the all too familiar surroundings. For a moment, while her sight adjusted to the bright light she caught a look at someone that wasn’t there before. There was no doubt in her mind who it was.
Victoria.
The two had never been on the best terms. Victoria was everything Rachel hated and she was sure she was everything Victoria hated -- a pair match made in hell. She wanted to laugh at her awful predicament; the only other person who was there that could possibly help probably wouldn’t if she was the last person on earth. What a joke. As Rachel moved past her initial feeling of grief her mind started to race. Why was Victoria here? Did Mark have plans for her too?
She tilted her head upwards, looking at the sleeping figure of the familiar blonde. Her arms and legs were bound with tape, much like her own. “V-Vic,” Rachel forced herself to speak, her own voice feeling foreign to her, “Wake up -- Victoria.”
