He can hardly believe it.

The Judge Alder nearly drops his weapon in SHOCK when he sees who’s standing at the edge of his property. Slowly, he stands, his eyes never leaving the man, even as Horatio goes TROTTING over the access the damage of the new man approaching his property. Horatio is almost the SAME SIZE of the other man, but Alder can’t stop himself from setting his weapon down and stepping down the porch.

“Jason…?”

All he gets is a smile in response; he maneuvers himself AROUND the boar nearly blocking his way. The large boar sends a look back at the ex deputy and he trots out of the way COMPLETELY when he sees that Alder looks more than relaxed in this stranger’s presence! He doesn’t even THINK to reply to his question, because the older man is already rushing forward, arms catching Jason by the shoulders and pulling him into a hug.

“Holy shit…” 

“Can’t sleep?”

HE’S not surprised. Normally he’s up at this hour too, and with a motion of his hand he beckons Jason over to the couch, the pint of ice cream in his lap momentarily as he clicks on the TV for half a second, surfing channels until he finds the Nick at Night channel and plucks a spoon from beneath the ice cream lid before nodding his head.
