I was ready to commit a lifetime. A lifetime. Be his maiden. Be his woman. Be his wife. Be his everything and even after finding out about him and another girl, I was ready to forgive him but why must he refuse me? 

I know I didn’t love him this much before and I know that it’s my fault that I made us fall apart but for him to give me up that easy hurts as if a stabbed heart was being poured with alcohol. I even came back twice, thrice even, to convince him but he won’t take me back and… why can’t he like me as much as I like him? 

She thought that arriving three hours earlier than she's supposed to would give her a special pass. For god's sake, she was Samantha Lee, daughter of the founder of the Lee Group of Companies. She didn't want to flaunt it like that but it's with times like this that she feels so desperate that she would use all the possible predicaments just so she could be at where she'd rather be at the moment. Well, at least, her title was enough to give her access to the Bennett Office.

Samantha failed to understand what the news meant for each of their families. For her, it was simply a new and exciting chapter in her life back then. She didn't know that it was that lifetime partnership his Aunt Emma was wishing for. Not that she was doubting any of her intentions before because truthfully, they got along pretty well. Victor's aunt was as hip as her mother and seeing that her mother and his aunt acted practically like sisters (ignoring the fact that their first names are even identical) gave her the impression that it would seal the happiness that she's been willing to see in her mother's eyes ever since Lorraine left the house. Victor was just an added bonus on her part.

It was an understatement to say that she fell for him that fast. In fact, she fell head over heels for him, much to her dismay that the man she's marrying is two years younger than her. Where was the vigor that she was willing to flash at him that time? It was gone that fast, only because he smiled back at her and her stomach turned upside down. She didn't regret falling for him because she knew deep inside that they indeed shared a mutual feeling for each other. Wouldn't that be the reason why they got engaged?
