Guys, boost the hell out of this.
âWhy Do you have a âmaleâ and a âfemaleâ accountâ
I kept saying I would either write a journal or make a youtube video about this question I keep getting and.....idk here we are months later and iâve finally reached that point where itâs easier to answer people with a link rather than constantly keep re-explaining myself. Honestly I donât see why it matters why I have 2 accounts...like i donât understand what is gotten out of me answering this question. .. But regardless I guess. The very short version: Itâs the same idea behind why there is a playgirl and a playboy magazine. Some people just want a more âtailoredâ viewing experience. Those that want both can choose to follow both. The long version: When I started out on FA I was posting everything on one account. (obviously. my Blaithe acct has only been mine for a little over a year now) At some point though, I noticed a DRASTIC difference in the amount of response my female art would get versus male art. This was confusing and frustrating for me. My male art got 50-70% less comments or favorites. It was to the point I didnât even want to bother posting male art at all. I just didnât understand.....male art was more wanted right? and I worked just as hard on it......If not harder....so what was the issue? Well for 1. My aversion to drawing males because they were harder for me to draw(also a factor. I just wasnât as good at them at the time) than females caused my followers to be far more geared towards my female art. You get known for what you do the most of. Even on something âsmallâ like  masculine of feminine art. Which leads into 2. I had a gallery full of female art. Because that was what I was getting commissioned for and what i liked taking. So there werenât many examples of male work. which would, rightfully so, make someone who wants male commissions hesitant to commission me. people want to see clear easy to find examples of an artists ability to work with their idea/character. (now keep in mind this was before âfoldersâ on the site.)
All of this eventually led me to my âmaleâ account. And thankfully a good friend had a great acct name they no longer needed. And it just personally works for me better. Iâm not trying to convince anyone to do the same thing. (which is another reason why i donât get this question. if youâre asking cause you think it works better then.....idk? It works for me. What works for me might not be for everybody else. /shrug). I now have an account that is attracting an audience FOR the content meant for it. Iâve already seen much better response there on my male work. People can now very easily view either gallery for their taste preference. When I post an âopeningâ journal, they know right off the bat depending on which account it came from, whether it might possibly fit their character or not. When I stream (cause i do have sepearate picarto channels too) they know right away if they want to view (cause yes in the past people would leave my streams on âvexstacyâ if i was working on male art). And iâd be lying if i said it wasnât nice sometimes to just âget awayâ from my main account. The REAL TL;DR? Because I can and it works for me. basically.Â
Iâve never had an adoptable I really loved to draw and sort of âconnected withâ until this one. I got her as a gift from Otterfuu (twitter) who bought her when I retweeted from Chomperbee (twitter). And I just find it funny how, though I lover her to bits, I donât see her as âfullyâ mine. Cause well, to me, sheâs not. Iâm not saying this in a bad way. Just keep reading. ChomperBee designed sketched, lined, colored, and designed this bab. So she âbirthedâ this baby. I then adopted her and named her (Dina) and Dina took on some qualities of her new mom (I redrew her to fit my style). But to me. I donât think iâll -ever- be able to âdisconnectâ her from ChomperBee. âBee is always gonna be âmomâ to Dina, in my eyes. Iâm like that parent in a movie that involves the original parent in the adopted kids life. Iâm always nosing Bee when I do something new with her. (I offered to stop bother her so much xD but she said it was okay!). What I mean by that is. When people compliment Dinaâs design i wonât just say âthanksâ. Iâm always going to be inclined to go âBee designed herâ. And when I post art Iâm always gonna be like âart of the bab Bee Designedâ.  And when i stream art of Dina i have a little text overlay on the screen sawing âcharacter designed by Beeâ. Cause I mean. Itâs true and to me it just feels wrong to like...ignore?...dismiss?...that. Like...if i was to just say âthanksâ it feels like iâm taking credit for her work. Like sure I added my flair to her, Iâll totally accept compliment likes âthis char looks so great in your styleâ. But color scheme, design composition, hair style. Thatâs all âBee. Like AS an artists itâs always slightly bothered me how eventually people just stop crediting me or other artists for creating the design of an adopt. But now even moreso I feel that way HAVING an adoptable that I really love. I WANT more people to know the original maker of a design I love so much. Why wouldnât I? I want to make sure âBee gets credit in every piece I draw or get. Idk. Just feels right to me. Iâve only really seen one or two other people do the same. The very lovely Peafox(FA) is one of them. They credit the creator on that profile. And I think thatâs great and wish more people did things like that. Anyway. Just wanted to share my experience. Especially since. I used to think adoptables were the worst fucking idea ever. I mean this was long before the who craze of âbase packsâ. I just genuinely didnât understand why anyone would want a character they themselves didnât create fully. And now here I am. But thatâs a story for another time. xDÂ
If you want to resolve an issue with me like an adult
Then I am right here.Â
You can reach me at these places. (I will ignore/block if you approach me anonymously): My Tumblr Inbox @ FA: VexTalks (I just made this account since a big portion of this stems from FA. The notes there are enabled) @ Skype: Vextalks (not my âpublicâ skype. Do not IM me unless you have something to discuss please) @ DA : Vexstacy
In my time of being somewhat âknownâ online Iâve more than once been able to resolve issues with people who were willing to approach me without acting like a hurt child. Some of whom iâm now on very friendly terms with.
I am more than willing to attempt to resolve something where I have wrongly upset someone. But this isnât to say I will be able to resolve all issues or accept all apologies if the fault is on your end depending on what itâs about. Nor is it to say I will apologize for something I didnât directly do to the person in question. I will not apologize for: -Something you heard through the grapevine/rumors: If you would like to ask me about a situation. I will answer. But if you are asking for/defending a friend. That person needs to speak to me themselves. -Outting you or a friend for tracing -Having strong opinions on controversial topics. (racism, LGBT, etc) -Banning or kicking you from my stream for misconduct -ânot talking to you enoughâ -My commission prices -My rules/how I run my  business
So if there is something we need to clear the air about then, again, here I am.Â
