What if Lena designed her own weapon?
I'm keeping the "blade in every pocket" idea, but her actual "gearing up for battle" planned combat weapon? Something versatile... maybe something that combines nth metal steel with electricity? Baton that can carry an electrical current, with a collapsible edge. So like, it starts as a nightstick, but transforms into a sword. or several swords. Dual wielding! Like a badass.
But if it can carry a current, it introduces the hiccup of needing a power source. Which runs the risk of running out of power, at which point, yes she still has some really sharp, really pointy knives, but it would lose its Luthor flair. It would be funny if Lena invented cold fusion just to nest it in a couple of blades.
Maybe Lena applies the electricity/stun element to various gadgets she makes for the team, and her actual weapons remain analog.
