Bandai America silently released the pre-orders of the Digimon Digital Monster V2 on Amazon, under the sale listing as the V1. Some just assumed the only difference was a new translucent shell designs, but there are actually some differences that come along with the V2 badge.

So what are the differences? Not only does the V2 have gorgeous translucent shells available in green, blue, pink, and yellow but the programing features new characters! That’s right, the V2 features two new eggs, which actually unlock two new characters, Lunamon, and Coronamon. Lunamon is featured on the purple and yellow shells, and Coronamon is featured on the blue and green shells.

What’s really odd is that Bandai America is not advertising this device, nor did they advertise the original Digimon Digital Monster that was re-released year. Oddly enough we did confirm with Bandai America that Digimon had a presence at the 2020 New York Toy Fair. There was a section of the Bandai America booth dedicated to the Digimon brand.
