There have been a lot of changes in our family life lately, mostly good, but sometimes the enemy has a way of creeping into your present to remind you of your past... or push you to question God's direction or where you currently are in life. Bitterness is never something we want to hold onto as it turns into resentment, which brings nothing but negativity and can blind us from seeing the blessings that God has already brought into our lives. God calls us to rise above these things, but He understands the feelings we have and what we go through as we process our emotions. Recently I had a seed of bitterness try to plant itself in my thoughts, but was encouraged by a good friend (brother) with the following words: "I'm praying for clarity and guidance. Also that you have peace with your decision because God has a plan and a reason for all this." ...Immediately I felt those words transcend and was reminded of what God's Word says in the verse above. Every person has difficult seasons that can feel bitter. But God promises to give us restoration. He wants us to place our hope in him so we can overcome our bitterness. He doesn't want us to stay stuck in our troubles but to move forward with His guidance. So we continue to seek Him through our feelings and emotions that often lead us astray. We trust His perfect timing and direction, and lean on the promises He has always followed through on. No one but God truly knows what is best for us and sometimes certain seasons must be walked through (although never alone) in order to get to where God ultimately desires us to be. And where He wants us to be is much better than where we think we need to be. Believe me. Giving Him all the glory and praise, hoping we find it within ourselves to honor His name in the process. Life happens. But what God can make happen is so much bigger! #BLESSED #Grateful #Psalm #Chapter71 #Verse20 #Verse21 #Bitterness #DontLetItConsumeYou #RiseAbove #BeRestored #GodWillGiveYouLife #Strength #Honor #Comfort #GodsWord #StraightNoChaser #Devotional https://www.instagram.com/p/CWJK1-hP37-/?utm_medium=tumblr

Do You Really Love God?
1 John 4:20 (NIV) "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen." The apostle John shares this particular truth with us as a reminder of it’s transparency in relevance to God. Too often we tend to interpret Scripture that is so specific as “gray” then apply it to our lives the way WE see fit … But many times in His Word, like in this verse, the Truth is spelled out cleary (black & white); there are no gray areas in God’s Word. It’s easy to say we love God when that love doesn’t cost us anything more than weekly attendance at church. But the real test of our love for God is how we treat the people right in front of us - our family members and fellow believers. We are not able to truly love God while neglecting to love those who are created in his image! Choose to love God today, by loving anyone & everyone, just like He did - Amen!
Tell me
Put the words ‘Tell Me’ in my askbox and my character has to tell yours one secret they’ve been hiding:
“Perhaps I’m not as angry about your kidnapping stunt as I make out I am. I can’t remember a time that anyone has wanted to help me for a selfless reason and for you to feel that way.. It’s a shock, Kol. But it’s a shock that I’m growing rather accustomed to. You might not be the only one with feelings in our little situation.”
Taken {Kol & Katherine}
The texts Katherine had received from Kol had not only confused her, they had worried her. Kol was the brother of the man whom had been chasing her entire life, the man who wanted to kill her. She could not grasp why an Original would want to help a Doppelganger, especially her. By nature, they were supposed to be natural enemies, a girl doomed from birth and the brother of the vampire whom wanted to slaughter her. And yet, he claimed that he wanted to help her. It was bizarre Her trust issues got the best of her and so, the female hid in the shadows of the alley as she awaited Kol's arrival, remaining masked by the darkness behind the Grill. She had to see it for herself, ensure that Klaus had not taken Kol's place and was coming to capture her. Soon enough, the vampire heard footsteps approaching, the figure of a male slipping into the alley. But who that was, she was currently unsure, his face hidden by the night and lack of lighting outside. "Kol?" She asked quietly, emerging from the darkness. Her movements were slow and steady, every muscle in her body tensed, ready to spring from where she stood and flee should the situation take an ugly turn.
