before i start seeing anyone saying that wake up dead man is anti-catholic or anti-christian (cause i know its gonna happen)

i just wanna get ahead of the game and say that this movie made me consider giving going to church another shot (its been years)

this movie voiced real complaints and criticisms and ways that the church harms people, with compassion and understanding, and featured a protagonist with an unwavering faith built on love and compassion

wake up dead man made me believe that there really could be people in the church who could love me the way they claim jesus does, with real understanding, without an 'adjustment period', without making me feel bad for being honest, without making me feel obligated to hide the ways i've been hurt

and it told me that i'm not crazy for finding that people with that kind of faith are hard to find

if you find wake up dead man offensive to your faith please please ask yourself if you're the type of christian anyone could feel safe with, or if there's certain types of people who feel unable to be honest with you

honestly its just so so so good that repcomm characters get to fuck up in ways that are fully in character. im so sick of blorbos making mistakes on accident or while missing critical information or just totally out of character because the plot needed a mess but the writers couldnt actually integrate a real flaw into their precious baby. kt really said that no person is really fully good or fully bad and gave all those bitches deeply seated and conflicting motivations and priorities. it is crack
