Eurovision 2010s: 250 - 246
250. Eva Boto -Â âVerjanemâ Slovenia 2012
What is this Real Bridesmaids Of Maribor realness being served here? Everyone is dressed for a wedding reception lol (Eva is the cake, obviously).Â
Snark aside, I think âVerjanemâ is rather pleasant actually, but it tries too hard to fuse âCvet z jugaâ with âNo oneâ a bit too forcibly, becoming a wash of whateverness instead. Still, random opera harpy is bae even if she dragged it into the NQ underworld with her offkey wailing <3

249. Genealogy -Â âFace the shadowâ Armenia 2015
An Iconic disaster on every level.Â
Vocally: Setting of course the stage for Tamar Kaprelianâs EPIC Rise and Fall in Depi Evratesil, but also featuring some AWFUL vocal performances from the others, barring Inga and the Australian Opera diva lol <3
Politically: Such an in-your-face-obnoxious, fingerwagging anti-holocaust ASSAULT, Flinging âDONâT DENYâsâ at everyoneâs heads <3 Having to change their title, but not their message lmfao <3
Visually: The cloaks lmfao <3 The MAP OF THE WORLD <3 The South-America erasure <3 Obnoxious clock and tree backdrops to hit home with the already suuuuuuper transparent message <3
I mean, donât get me wrong; âFace the shadowâ is horrible. Itâs a terrible song. It completely fails at paying tribute to the victims of the Armenian genocide and worse, it cheapens the genocide. I donât feel the least bit guilty mocking it and neither should you! Yet, at the same time, itâs so shittastic it almost becomes... good? Well, maybe not âgoodâ, but ironically stanworthy at least. DONâT DENY!!! YOU AND IIIIIIIII~

248. Katerine Duska -Â âBetter loveâ Greece 2019
Likewise, âBetter loveâ is kind of really bad lol. I mean, I think the composition itself is fine, if lazy (shocked Jessie Ware hasnât filed a lawsuit yet), but the live execution reaches a level of trainwreck that is VERY entertaining to watch, yet at the same time I canât genuinely say, that I ~live for the mess~ I mean, where to even start with this tryhard staging? Random rapier-wielding fencers, butterfly backing vocalists, a forced floral theme (including a giant orb which is supposed to represent a seed). Itâs all very far-fetched? WHICH IS A TERRIBLE TAKE ON STAGING, because âBetter loveâ is an easy song to get into (unlike âFace the shadowâ) so why even bury it under tryhard symbolism? Keep it simple, the song will sell itself.Â
Overall, I like "Better loveâ more than I dislike it. Itâs enteraining if very, very flawed. Seriously, get it together Greece WHAT UR WAITING FOR? WHAT UR WAITING FOR FOR? WHAT YOUR WATING FOR? (better songs, better songs) ________________________________________________________________
247. Sieneke -Â âIk ben verliefd (Sha-la-lie)â the Netherlands 2010
God Iâm so torn about Sieneke, of all entries. On one hand, I think sheâs embarrassing and pedestrian. I usually love my Banality Anthems, which is the term I use for silly songs about everyday things, (âBeautiful Songâ wonât be showing up anytime soon!), but âIk ben verliefdâ is like... literally summing up random places all around the globe. I have heard much, much better Dutch schlager in my lifetime. On the other hand, ETHNO-SCHLAGER BANGER, um hello? Itâs a subpar one, granted but Iâm not made of stone. The carnival theme <3 The dancers <3
I also LIVE for the mess that was the Dutch NF: you see, the Dutch chose their song (this song!!) internally and then tasked the bunch of nobodies that were the 2010 Dutch National Finalists, to bring their ~interpretation~ and Sieneke was the best one, somehow? It wasnât even close, lmfao. Actually, Iâm underselling the crazy. Sieneke tied for first, so the hosts dragged the composer on the stage to break the tie and it was basically a coin flip? WHAT A TRAINWRECK WE STAN!!! but only ironically though lol. ________________________________________________________________
247. Guy Sebastian -Â âTonight againâ Australia 2015
~Shock boot~
I mean, I can hear the battlecry of those with inferior taste! "BUT BORIS TONIGHT AGAIN SOUNDS LIKE A CHARTING HITâ and well, yes, exactly? Do you know how fucking pedestrian that makes the song lol? I donât mind âTonightâ again at all, bear with me, but if you  turn your radio on and switch through the stations and you'll hear at least three âTonight againsâ. Itâs nothing special. ^_^
