okay so take everything i say interpretive-wise with a grain of salt bc i haven't read the books in a over a decade (and don't really want to shhhhhh) but just like what i think is missing in a lot of interpretations is a) a sense of pride as opposed to arrogance and b) that being bitchy is in completely equal parts a defense mechanism and something he just gets a kick out of....there's also a lot more to his attraction to power than brute force i see it as like faustian in its sensuality

I love this song, so I wish I had a more coherent answer.

I’m gonna put on my shipper hat and give this one to Renji/Rukia. I can see this being from Rukia’s POV, as she tries to cope with the absence of their relationship during that 40yr separation.

🥲 Out in the Rukongai, I think Rukia and Renji probably saw each other as equals, but once entering the Academy that changed when Renji was placed in the advanced class.

Even after graduating from the Academy, Renji was able to join the Gotei 13 and became seated, while Rukia remained unseated. As an outsider/stranger, Rukia probably thought that Renji was thriving! I know our reader perspective is skewed because all our mains are completely over-powered, but in the scheme of things, any seated officer in a division is pretty strong! I mean, think of all those canon fodder shinigami that always die in any given invasion (lol rip) that don’t even have shikai… So while Renji was busy convincing himself he wasn’t good enough for Rukia, she was probably thinking the same thing… aaahhhh it’s a good thing they found each other again.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them? im not sure i have an answer to this because fandom to me is just talking to my friends. maybe okay we know I am rapidly starting to hold active animosity for the clone wars animated series because references to it are in inescapable. so maybe ahsoka im sorry baby I loved you when I was an actual child but get out of my fanfiction

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about: just like nobody understands these fucking characters in general lol altho i think the original trilogy generally fares better than the prequels. there is no character less likely to become a sith than obi-wan specifically be so for real

34: What I find attractive in women: since the question set makes a distinction between men and women i'm going to assume this means physically attractive...my type, historically speaking, seems to be petite women with dark hair who are neither very fem nor very masc
