To Verb Love
Verbing love. What does that mean? It means that only too often, love is simply a word that trips off our tongues far too easily. Most of the time, it doesn't have such meaning as it should. There is no word in the English vocabulary that means exactly what "love" does. Why, then, do we use it flippantly? Life should be all about making love a verb, something active and alive, not only a thing or a word that we say when feel like it. Love is what wakes you up at 4am when someone has the flu. Love is what does the dishes even though you've done them the last four times. Love is what works hard to take care of the people you care about. Love is what makes a packed lunch everyday. Love is following through even though you don't feel like it. Love is keeping your word. Love is what holds families and friends and humanity together. Love is supposed to ressemble the One who made it. Active, alive, vibrant, love. It should be spilled out across the pages of our lives, permeating every chapter, not as nouns, but as verbs - moving and pulling thoughts and people together.
