RAT LORE SITE IS LIVE
This SHOULD have been posted when it went live on May 30th, the date of Rat Lore Con 2026, but I've had the most mad dash weeks since then of pain, projects, a fest, & more!
So WHAT is Rat Lore & how does it relate to anything again?? Well, it's a dubious Lore & project web that deals with Rat Lores featuring centrally some familiar Rats that have already appeared in Mythoslain (Veracity Rat & Mendacity Rat) as companions of one Xidobo Ktikov. Rat Lore originally came to be very early on in Mythoslain's legitimate lifespan/development, just over a month into pre-planning for what it would become now. They were conceptualized as a side bit that oh so rapidly became a fixture of the comic when they slotted in so beautifully with Xidobo's whole deal (which is also elaborated on in connection with the Rats in a dedicated zine about them).
BUT WHAT IS THE RAT LORE SITE? The Rat Lore site is simply another platform to house all the assorted Rat Antics including all the zines I've made about them from specific Lores & origins to my Quiet Year hack accidentally designed at my bday party in January & the first issue in a series of educational zines w/ comics about literary theory concepts. Those last two are completely free to read/download on the site! You can also read each of the three Rat intro zines free too on their dossier page, but it's a mess I need to fix as of the time of posting.
Everyone is welcome to engage with Rat Lore & explore its dubious contents. I eagerly welcome offerings/entries to the Lore of any kind to display in the Legends section of the site & you can get a digital Rat Goodie (or a physical merch if you're local!)
