Older Chris with a Younger Leon: "Aw, look at this sweet little nerd."

So, the concept for one of the stories I'm working on, where RE2Remake!Leon meets Vendetta!Chris and Vendetta!Leon, is kind of like "An explosion so powerful it ripped a hole in the fabric of time and such."

Let's just say, RE2Remake!Leon doesn't make it out of Raccoon City in his timeline (alternate from another timeline) He stays to distract William, so Claire and Sherry can get away. While he does this, the missile drops on Raccoon. He's caught in the blast...but he doesn't die.

No, he falls into the middle of a street...just as a BSAA Jeep stops dead in front of him.

Chris, who is on his way home from the bar with some coworkers weeks after New York, nearly hits "this kid" but luckily hits the brakes before he can hit the person. "Little Leon" pulls his gun, but stops when he sees other civilians out and about and not zombies and monsters. He also realizes that this isn't Raccoon and due to exhaustion, he faints.

Chris gets out of the vehicle, quickly running to the younger's side. He's not sure if the little bit of alcohol in his system is messing with him or not, because this looks like a younger version of his Leon. He takes the cop to base and gets him checked out.

Meanwhile, a couple hours later, the older Leon of this timeline is coming home from work, Claire and Sherry having come over for a surprise visit. Sherry revealing that she's engaged to Jake. Leon is happy for her, but gets a call from Chris. The agent smiles and answers the phone, about to tell his boyfriend the good news until the man tells him he might want to come down to base.

Claire offers to drive and the trio gets there. Leon, worried about Chris' tone, asks what's wrong. Chris opens the door to the infirmary to reveal the younger Leon, now conscious, sitting upright in the hospital bed.

The rest you'll have to wait to find out. 😉

Leon is celebrating his twenty-first birthday with some friends at the bar. Captain Chris Redfield of the BSAA is also at this bar, but by himself after a hard day at work.

Piers, who is Chris' lieutenant and also in Leon's group of friends, spots Chris. He's like "Shit, I have Recruitment Training tomorrow...he can't see me drinking...etc." Leon sees Chris and is like "I'm interested". So, Leon buys two shots and takes one over to Chris.

"Um, hi, I'm Leon...it's my uh, twenty-first birthday...shot?" The brunette asks, offering one to Chris with wide blue eyes and a shy smile.

Chris thinks it's a joke, but then sees that Leon is sincere. He accepts the shot, and orders Leon another drink. They spend the rest of the night talking to each other. Leon gives Chris his phone number.

Chris' friends and coworkers poke fun at Chris for dating someone half his age, and Leon's friends do the same to him. "He's old enough to be your dad!" But they don't care cause they make each other happy.

The only thing that confuses Chris are Leon's "Meme References" and the occasional online Mario Kart 8 gaming sessions Leon has with his friends, as well as "Cards Against Humanity" night. But Leon teaches Chris Mario Kart and CAH.

"Little Leon", being from 1998, is absolutely and utterly confused by modern tech. They get him a cellphone, which confuses him. "Where are the buttons? And...HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO PLAY VIDEO ON IT?"

Older Leon and Chris have a lot of smart technology in the house as well. The Alexa, who is configured to the fridge, says out loud that they are almost out of milk or something. Little Leon's is just so confused because, "Where is that voice coming from?"

"Hey! Over here, Shit for Brains!" Leon called out, shooting at the bulbous eye of the mutated Birkin. 

The monster roared, it's sickly colored iris turned toward him, taking its attention away from the train car that held Sherry and Claire. He heard the Beta yell for him, but the Omega ignored her pleas to get to their train car. He told her that he had to finish this once and for all.  

"We've got to lose that car!" The youngest Redfield hollered, making quick work of the cover that protected the hitches between the train cars.

Leon was locked in battle with William, firing round upon round at the disgusting beast. A curse left his lips as his gun clicked, finally out of ammunition. He tossed the weapon at the beast, picking up what appeared to be a metal rod. He felt the weight of it in his hands before thrusting it into the beast's retina. William screeched in pain, slimy tentacles flailing in pain.

"Fuck you!" Leon hollered, stabbing it deeper into the creature's pus colored eye. The rookie police officer stumbled to Claire and Sherry's car, unaware that the G-Virus infected creature was not done with them yet. 

"Leon! Gimme your han-Whoa!" Claire hollered, falling backward as William's tentacles reached for their car, "Shit!" 

"Claire! Leon! He's getting closer!" Sherry cried out, William clearly not finished with them

Leon looked down, watching as Birkin tried to attach the cars once more via his own mutated flesh and tentacles. Blue eyes looked up at the Beta and the little girl, both of whom looked terrified. He felt his heart racing in his chest as he looked down at the hitches, just barely touching each other. One good push, and the cars would detach, but they would need to push from this car.

He looked back up at the red-head, who still reached for him, desperation evident in her tone as she called his name. Sherry was right next to her, little arm and hand outstreched and reaching for him. The Omega gave a watery smile, tears brimming in his eyes as he knew what he had to do.

"Say hi to your brother for me." Leon said, just barely audible over the roaring of the fiery inferno behind them, "Take care of Sherry."

"Wha-?" Claire asked, but then realized what he was doing, the cop getting down and separating the cars, pushing with his leg off of theirs, "Leon! No!" 

Too late. The Omega pushed off, his and William's car slowing down and descending into the fiery depths below them. Leon turned, holding on to the side as he glared at the creature before closing his eyes. Sherry and Claire were safe, they were going to make it. 

He apologized to them and then his parents, his still living mother especially, begging her to forgive him for leaving her. He mentally told his dad that he was going to see him on the other side. He awaited the sweet embrace of death, hearing a loud explosion, and heat before a bright light consumed both him and William.

It was quiet...and then he was falling.

Summary: A Resident Evil AU in which Leon Kennedy is a 21 year-old, wide-eyed recruit/rookie for the BSAA. While there, he falls in deep with Captain Chris Redfield. Rated M for Mature.

"...Nivans, Piers?" Barry called out the next name on the list for the team this year.

"Sir, yes, sir!"

"Macauley, Finn?"

"Sir, yes, sir!"

"And last, but not least, the rookie, Kennedy, Leon?" Barry asked.

"Here! I mean, uh, sir yes sir!" Leon stuttered out, saluting.

The rest of the team laughed at the younger's mistake. The youngest and seemingly the smallest, it seemed as Leon blushed in embarrassment. Barry simply sighed, shaking his head as he went over the list for the BSAA’s US Division. Barry dismissed them, telling the team to run laps, but kept Leon aside,

"What's the matter, Rookie? First day jitters?" Barry asked.

Leon nodded, "Kind of, sir. I just noticed that, I, um..."

"Are the youngest and the smallest? Well, there wasn't a lot to pick from the recruits, and a lot of them applied for the stations overseas. You were the only one who applied for the US Division." Barry pointed out.

“Oh, uh, okay.” Leon said with a nod.

“Now, start jogging, cadet. Go!” Barry commanded.

Leon nodded and saluted, running across the field to join the team for the early morning jog. The brunette never felt so embarrassed in his life. First he had woken up late, then he nearly missed the bus, and he had almost been late for Roll Call, and now he was messing up simple “Yes and No Sir.” He tried to start simple conversation with one of the guys, Piers Nivans, but the Lieutenant sneered at him, picking up his own pace and jogging away from the younger. Leon tried conversation with anyone, but they either had the same reaction as Piers, laughed, or ignored him entirely.

“Way to go, Kennedy. Can’t even make friends on your first day.” Leon muttered to himself.

Barry watched the team and the newest recruit, shaking his head as Leon kept up, but was seemingly on his own. Poor bastard, already singled out as the black sheep on his first day. Burton just hoped that the team would get over that mentality by the time their first mission rolled around, the BSAA couldn’t afford to lose anymore people, especially a new recruit. Captain Chris Redfield and Captain Jill Valentine joined him on the field, watching the team jog.

“How are we looking this year?” Chris asked, curiously looking over the list that Barry held.

The elder shook his head, “Not good. We only got one new recruit for the US Branch; Leon S. Kennedy. The rest went to the European Division or the Africa Division.” He said.

“Which one is he?” Chris said, looking at the team.

Barry pointed with his pen, “The small fry jogging by himself in the back.” He said.
