This video covers not only the fact that the UN is now urging veganism due to environmental issues but it also investigates what these issues are and how the dairy/egg/meat industry affects it. You can find many, many sources backing this up and providing even more facts. This isn't hypothesis that can be ignored.
It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

"It works like this: Milk contains a lot of protein and a lot of calcium. Your body uses magnesium to utilize the calcium you ingest. You need roughly a 1:1 ratio otherwise you will pass excess calcium. Milk contains very little magnesium, only about 1/6 as the amount of calcium, so 5/6 of the calcium you consume from milk is wasted and expelled from urine. Not only that, but your body uses calcium to absorb and utilize proteins, so drinking milk, which is high in protein can deplete your calcium levels."

All in all vegan is great, for whatever reasons you choose to. But it is important to respect people. The vegan movement receives flak, in some cases much deserved, for being rude, sexist, racist, disrespectful and so on. I'm sure you've heard of them, 269life appropriated imagery and what resulted was racist and misanthropic. I'll have sources referencing that soon, but the point is this is not okay and gives a bad and hateful name to the vegan movement. I will soon be expanding more on this topic as there are other discrepencies in the vegan movement such as class discrimination (this is not saying that vegan is a first world luxury, once again more on that later) and a lack of empathy for people, their situations, and location. I totally applaud the effort and dedication there but don't be a dickface about things guys.
