“You said I could come to you about, well, almost anything.”
“Obvs! That’s what bros are for, amirite?” Rhys answered, casually, trying to encourage a nervous Vaughn.
“Yeah, totally, it’s just…” He trailed off, stopping to clean his glasses. Wearing them less didn’t prevent the lenses from getting dirty anyway. “There’s someone, and I hadn’t been on the dating scene since that girl who sat next to me in accounting, a relationship which as you know didn’t survive when we were drowning in deadlines at work and…”
“Wait.” The newly Atlas CEO looked at his friend, eyes wide open in surprise, and a big complicit smile in his face. “You’re into someone? C’mon, tell me, who’s the lucky one?”
“Cute, but not what I mean. Well, you’re lucky, but they sure are too. Who’s it?”
“C’mon… I won’t tell anyone if you don’t want to. Not even Sash.”
“Oh, you can tell her, she already suspects it.”
“Not if I don’t know it yet…”
“Okay, okay. Just please don’t laugh. It’s… August.”
Rhys blinked, several times actually, and could only think about one response right in the moment.
