What happens when jasmine flowers dissolve into wine? Where does the wind seek when the storm passes-- and people resume worshipping the sun? Who digs up pearls from the grave and relish in their beauty-- without knowing their ill-timed fate?

The wretched fate of the prophet, blowing clouds of smoke in the winter, sacrificed to an ideal on a dissolving altar. It takes ashes and scatters them in savage gardens; maroon roses resurrect, only to remind all of a virulent death in is silken petals. --Elda Mengisto

VATICIDE || The Reckoning

Mettaton NEO had been felled without a second glance. Glamour and gloating ended in nothing but spare parts, cast aside.

Angel could feel the LOVE surging through them, as they stepped forwards, towards New Home.

They equipped the Toy Knife again, looking at the plastic utensil.

It is cast aside. The real thing was only steps away, was it not? Almost within reach. Almost ready to lay the final blow on their opponent.

* ... * You’ve been quiet. They speak, to no one, and to someone in particular. Their apparition, their demon. The first fallen human, the fallen Dreemurr. Chara.

* You’re dreading seeing him again, aren’t you? A soft sigh, as Angel slows to a crawl, eventually just _standing_ still, looking off into the distance, seeing that small, quaint little cottage in the distance.

* ...You know we have to. * He’s waiting for us to finish it, after all.

The ANGEL does not wait for a response from the DEMON before resuming their march.
