I'm not even gonna go anon for this, because I'm feeling self-indulgent and brazen: I'm requesting the 411 on some good FFXV boys (whomstever you feel up to writing about) and their reactions to receiving their favorite flowers from their S/O.
YOU GOT IT, DUDE. Thanks to @sonsoflucis for help with the Gladio one <3!!!
You canât really find Noctisâs favorite flowers in bouquets; aside from the obvious and elusivesylleblossom, most of his favorites are wildflowers. It reminds himof his youth and the time he spent in Tenebrae, and the deep pinksand purples give him the peace of evening and nighttime. It takes awhile for you to figure out what exactly to do, but eventually ithits you: if you canât bring the flowers to him, then what else todo but take him to the flowers instead? And thatâs how itâssettled; you set aside time on a Saturday together for a âsurprisefield trip,â and itâs entirely worth the way his eyes widen andlight up when you reach the botanical gardens. Thereâs row afterrow of lupine and foxglove, his absolute favorite, and he barelyspeaks all throughout, admiring each blossom like every stroke ofpaint in a museum. You spend hours there together, walking side byside, and he doesnât have to speak in order to thank you. All hehas to do is slide his fingers between yours.
Well, what did you expectPromptoâs favorite flower to be? Of coursetheyâre sunflowers and buttercups. He loves the brightness of them, and theyâre his favorite nicknames for you besides. (For therecord, he loves it when you call him sunshine, and he went totallysoft and held a buttercup to your chin the first time you asked himwhat his favorite flowers were. Part of him probably thought thatguys werenât allowed to have favorite flowers. Another part of himprobably thought the myth about holding buttercups to your chin wastrue.) So imagine his surprise, and then his elation, when you present a small bouquet of sunflowers to him. He cradlesthem in his arms the whole time, keeps them in a vase by his windowso they get as much sun and water as possible, and is absolutelyheartbroken when they wilt.  (He makes sure to buy you a sunflowertoo. Just the one. Itâs artificial. He tells you heâll love youuntil it dies.)
Ignis is no strangerto the language of flowersâitâs something heâs dabbled in, inhis spare time. Or at least, what little spare time he finds inbetween advising and stressing and Definitely Not Sleeping When HeShould. Regardless, it probably shouldnât come to you as a surprisewhen he reveals his favorite flowers to you: lavender and orchids.Lavender, for serenity, grace, and calmness; orchids, for beauty, luxury, and fragrance. (More specifically, heâs fond of cattleyaorchids, which stand for mature charms.) Getting him a bouquetdoesnât quite fit your image of him, though, but you have a betteridea in mind instead. It takes some time to put together, but at theend of an evening out, you present him with a softcover journalfilled with pressed flowers, specially picked just for him. Heâsentirely taken aback by the gesture, delicately fingering the driedblossoms, and with a soft kiss to your forehead, he murmurs thatheâll cherish it for as long as he lives.
Youâd probably think thatGladioâs favorite flower would be the one heâsnamed after, but while he does have an affinity for swordlilies, theyarenât quite on par with his true favorite: irises. He loves themeven more once absence makes that big heart of his grow stronger andfonder, and any time he sees them in whatever color he finds, hethinks of his sister and makes a point to send her a  text remindingher that heâs always going to be there for her. Daisies are a closesecond, though, as you discover when the two of you are reclining ina meadow on a good old-fashioned day date. On a whim, you make adaisy crown for him, setting it atop his head, and it doesnât evenoccur to him to laugh at it or take it off. It stays there, tilted ata bit of an angle, and he pulls you into his lap, asking you to showhim how you made it. His hands are warm and callused as they work intandem over yours, and in time he fashions a necklace for you tomatch. (He takes a picture and sends that to Iris, too. He adds thatshe has a pretty skilled future in-law.)

Combining all the Kyouhabas into one big psychic Kyoutani/empath Yahaba blob!Â
âAre you trying to piss me off?â
Kyoutani growled through his teeth, hands clenching tighter on the collar of Yahabaâs jacket, vibrating with tension...but he still held back, his curled knuckles just shy of brushing Yahabaâs skin.
âWill you...will you justâŚâ his arms jerked, like heâd meant to push Yahaba away, or maybe pull him closer, but couldnât translate either thought into motion.
Yahaba could feel the annoyance, clenching in the pit of his stomach, but for once in his life he ignored it, holding himself still as Kyoutani clung to him...and that was the word he realized. This didnât feel like he was trying to start a fight (and he would know.) This felt like clutching at an anchor, fighting against a riptideâŚ
He flashed on Oikawa flopping over Iwaizumiâs shoulder, the tiny shiver of tension leaving him when Iwa squeezed his hand. He thought of Karasunoâs captain and vice captain exchanging glances on the sidelines, whole conversations flying between them in an instant, Sugawara catching Oikawa in the hall--
You know what youâve got there, right?
Yahaba raised his hands, slow and smooth, like heâd reach out to a spooked animal, and set his hands on Kyoutaniâs wrists, careful to keep their skin from touching. âWhatâs going on, Kyouken?â he asked, forcing the annoyance from his voice. âWhatâs wrong? I want to help--â and what reason have I ever given you to believe that, he thought, with a sick sting of guilt. Kyoutani shivered.
âLet me help,â Yahaba repeated, quieter, squeezing Kyoutaniâs skinny wrists through the sleeves of his jacket. âJust...tell me what to do. Tell me what you need.â
ââS too loudâŚâ
He said it so quietly Yahaba barely caught the words at all, head twisted away and eyes squeezed shut, like a child hiding from a monster under the blankets.
âToo loud?â
âI was dealing with it,â Kyoutani spat between his teeth, voice still barely louder than a whisper but suddenly full of venom. âItâs always been too loud in my head but I was dealing, I was on top of it--it helped, volleyball helped, it made it better even with all the people, I could handle it until you--until fucking you--â his fingers clenched white-knuckle tight in Yahabaâs collar, arms shaking with the strain. âYou fucking touched me and it all went quiet.â The anger in his voice crested, broke...and crashed into shaking desperation. âIt was quiet, just for a second you made it quiet and then...and then you took it away.â
âHeâs got no defenses,â Sugawara said to Oikawa, speaking in a fast, urgent whisper Yahaba had to strain to hear. âHeâs all alone. I found Daichi when I started high school, but he doesnât have anyone.â Oikawa blinked down at the other boy, eyes wide, his face shocked open in a way Yahaba had never seen before. âI have Daichi, youâve had Iwaizumi all your life. Imagine if you hadnât found him until you were sixteen. How long would you have lasted?â
âYou want me to touch you,â Yahaba whispered. It wasnât a question. âYouâve been trying to start fights with me all this time...just so I would touch you again.â He half-remembered the buzzing rush in his head, written off as his own frustration and anger. Kyoutani still wouldnât look at him. Â âKyouken. Hey.â
You made it quiet...he thought of Iwa squeezing Oikawaâs hand, of Sugawara leaning against his captainâs shoulder, tiny, instantaneous brushes of contact where something seemed to pass between them. He slid his hands up and let them settle over Kyoutaniâs, still clenched in his collar, skin to skin.
The inside of his head roared. Yahaba swayed with the force of it, and Kyoutani shivered, hard, amber eyes flying up as their skin touched. It wasnât sound, wasnât something heard, but he had nothing else to call it, a screaming wall of pure emotion that crashed through his mind, pushing away his own thoughts in the torrent. He was barely aware of his knees buckling, but Kyoutaniâs hands shot down, one to his elbow one to his waist, letting the taller boy sag against this chest. Yahaba clutched at his shoulders, thumb brushing against Kyoutaniâs collarbone and the din in his head redoubled...and then it ebbed away, leaving him breathless and panting, ears ringing in the silence.
His eyes were locked open, staring into Kyoutaniâs.
âAll the time?â he whispered, voice rough. âItâs like that in your head all the time?â
âAll the time,â Kyoutani echoed. âUntil you touch me. Itâs...itâs better when youâre touching me.â He was still half-holding Yahaba, steadying him by the elbow.
Yahaba tightened his grip on Kyoutaniâs shoulders. He took a deep breath, and let his head dip down, the bare inch it took to press his forehead against Kyoutaniâs.
He was ready this time. The rush of psychic noise still slammed hard into his mind, but it felt less frantic this time, less desperate and hard-edged. It felt like something shared, a river, not a flood, hot and intense but not overwhelming. But still enough to leave him panting, his hands trembling where they pressed against Kyoutaniâs neck, his pulse rushing under his skin...He didnât remember doing that.
Kyoutaniâs arms were warm and strong around his waistâŚ.he didnât remember that happening either.
âBetter?â he asked, and Kyoutani hugged him tighter. Yahaba sighed, and let his arms  slip around Kyoutaniâs shoulders. Could he ever hear individual thoughts, individual words or intentions in all that noise. Maybe in the quiet, maybe while they were this close...as long as they were touching
Youâre not alone anymore, okay? Youâre not alone.
