The party returns to Skyhold with an unexpected extra member, Josephine is not amused.
"Absolutely not." The group hadn't made it to the fortress' gates before being accosted by a disgruntled Ambassador on the back of a horse. "Elizabeth, you will send this beast back the way it came, at once!"
"But it followed me home!" the mage answers defensively, holding the bundled creature closer to her body.
"Technically," Varric speaks from the back of the group "it followed a mysterious trail of dried meat someone left behind and happened to lead to you."
"Details." she dismisses the accusation "Josie, I can't send Romeo all the way back, he's just a baby, look!" Elizabeth coos, unwrapping the bundle of furs under her cape to reveal her new companion.
A stumpy, purring and toothless varghest pup peeked its head out of it, curious about its surroundings. It was more tail than body, and young enough to lack the plating of scales on most parts of its skin.

Me, looking at screenshots of varghests: What the fuck they’re so weird and ugly and I need seventeen of them.
Solmera Adaar would absolutely wrangle a baby varghest and raise it to hunt/fight with her. (If DA specific animals are off the table she'd have a falcon)
