Pomp and Circumstance (Open)
Another day, yet another charity event that Vanessa had to attend with her father. This time, it was with the local orphanage. As boring as it may be to others, Vanessa actually enjoyed spending time with the kids. They have always been her soft spot. She just wished that her father didn't treat it as more of a press event. Vanessa was the kind of woman that was very low-key with her volunteering. However, that came with the territory of being the Princess of Cardiff. Everything was public, whether she liked it or not.
Following their time, she looked to her father as they walked out. "You're riding with us, Vanessa?" her father asked her. She wrinkled her nose and shook her head. "Nah, I think I'm going to go for a walk to the cafe or something. But I'll catch up with you later." She gave her father a kiss as they parted.
Sometimes, folks are still shocked that Vanessa enjoyed just being by herself, getting some coffee and some alone time. Thankfully, folks don't really bother her too much, which allows her a sense of normalcy. Reaching her favorite cafe, she stood in line and waited to order, feeling some eyes on her for some reason...
