I was a live model today. 

      Yesterday, we had our last outing on the Tyne before WEHORR the regatta we are going to in London. It was a good solid outing and two guys from the mens crew came out and coached us which was incredibly helpful! Peter, whose the next men's cpt for next year, and Tom (A) coached us from one of the launches that was brought over from the Wear. The water was choppy and icky-not smooth and glassy but that's what it will probably be like in London so thats what made the outing kind of a test go. We also got to work on some drills prior to our piece (which is a 5K) and they really helped separate the movements and concentrate power in the boat. I like this stuff, the getting ready; the training it all give me a bit of a focus, well outside work and play. ...We did have a bit of difficulty out on the water though. About 1500m into our piece the launch the guys were on ran out of gas and instead of continuing the 5K we turned around to try and help them (..I think we thought we could pull them back to the boat house...pressure for 10 anyone? we'll just add a little resistance training to the outing). But they drifted to shore and then went in search of petrol. We started our piece over and then went in to drop the boat off with the Second VIII so that they could use it for their outing. All in all it was nice to be out on the water early and back in time for college brunch.
