I have recently gained an interest in seeing how vampires are depicted in media. I enjoy noticing the subtle differences between various types of vampire media. I also enjoy seeing when vampires are portrayed more accurately than they normally are.

was thinking about what show daniel would think if confronted with book daniel. like both disgust and envy at this guy who actually successfully threw away his life to the allure of vampires, never got married or had kids, stopped having an actual career, shacked up with ARMAND?? THAT GUY?? but also got all the stuff daniel wanted much earlier. however actually that's all whatever. what's really funny is can you imagine meeting your self from the universe next door and they have fucking purple eyes??

the really compelling tragedy of vampirebooks to me is how even when you literally Make someone you can’t make them love you. like Claudia is about your kid dying but it’s also about your kid being someone you don’t understand, and you being someone she can’t understand either. and like, what a fucking horrible burden to put on someone! that's not what kids are for! everyone is losing! armand is right stop fucking making vampires! (touches ear) hmm. I'm getting reports that's not stopping him from trying so so so hard to make people love him in horrible horrible ways?

listen if Daniel didn’t get turned in the Dubai penthouse they could just be book accurate in the funniest way possible and have him be turned on a plane. on his way home. imagine your vampire dad abandoning you and then you have to go through CUSTOMS

I absolutely HATE the trope of vampires and garlic. We are not weak we can handle a plant. I don't get how people think that a simple plant used to flavor food could harm/kill us. I get that it started as a misunderstanding of someone writing that vampires were weak to garlic as in loving it but it's so annoying.
