Speaking of literacy and media literacy - the fixers didn’t even know what the word “consort” means, turning it into “concubine.” Either they genuinely didn’t know, or they pretended it fit just to serve their own purposes (their toxic non-con fanfics-analysis, Ascended Astarion stories where Tav is treated as a “sex toy”).
At least watch House of the Dragon for starters idk.
--- spoiler ---
Laenor Velaryon is Rhaenyra Targaryen’s future Cons-- Concubine.
Daemon Targaryen is Rhaenyra Targaryen’s concubine.
I haven't been watching House of Dragon but indeed, and this have been pointed out before a multiple times. They ignore the canon that not for any vampire creature it is possible to have more than one consort - they create this bullying narrative of "harem of consorts", which even Strahd never had to begin with.
Speaking of media literacy, you can see it everywhere in their "analysises": it is more than enough for them that one and the same word has been used in two different dialogues, and here it is, groundbreaking deep analysis that apparently everything is the same!
Word "spawn" was used more than twice and from different characters in different scenarios? It is the same situation! Don't you see it! And now magically Astarion becomes Cazador 2.0 just because of this one word, and we will completely ignore all the in-game evidence that AA's partner is not a similar vampire "spawn" to whom Astarion was before.
Word "degradation" was used in some corners of character's texts couple of times? The same! Media literacy! Such a deep level of writing, genius, brilliant, next writer legend! /s
This is their level of "deep understanding" - surface level without ever opening a simple dictionary book in their entire life. Or you know, how they usually "read" anything - they search for useful for their narrative info and then throw away every nuance and every other contradictory information.
Consort noun [C] (PARTNER) - a wife or husband, especially of a ruler:
The Emperor Napoleon III and his consort lived sedately in an apartment in the Tuileries.
queen consort - When her husband was crowned she became Queen Consort.
prince consort - Philip was Elizabeth's prince consort.
Concubine noun [ C ] - a woman who, in some societies, lives and has sex with a man she is not married to, and has a lower social rank than his wife or wives
Spawn (besides the meaning of DnD "vampire spawn") [ C ] literary plural spawn - a young animal or child (similar to word offspring)
spawn of disapproving - He looked at me as if I was a spawn of Satan because I was smoking a cigarette.
The same way as Raphael could be described as spawn of Mephistopheles, his offspring.
Creating a vampire, no matter what kind, spawn or bride or others, is vampire's reproduction system - they cannot reproduce any other way and create new vampries. Every new-turned vampire is a "spawn", an "offspring" of the vampire that turned them, even if this "spawn" is much more different vampire creature than a "vampire spawn" that are often also named fledgelings (though still may be used not only to "vampire spawns" kind).
