“Don’t see many wolves outside of Galahd, these days,” Gladiolus said casually, drawling the words out as soon as he noticed the blond staring at him strangely, with that eerie canine instinct that werewolves always had with noting his kind out.
He held his hands up placatingly, flashing an easy smile at the other. “I’m just here for a cup of tea. Not feeding tonight, and if this is established territory, I don’t mind going out of it to get what I need. I’m new in town,” the vampire said, easily, as he picked his tea up from the barrista.
Without thinking about it he compelled the barrista, encouraging the young man to relax, to let the stress of the day flow on by him, he’d noticed the tension, even smelled it in him, and it was easing even as he started making his way through the cafe to find a table, keeping an eye on the wolf as he moved.

“One of their purebred line, right. You smell all...stuck up,” the vampire said, teasing, more than anything. The wolves born to their life didn’t smell stuck up so much as powerful, almost noble, which fit. They tended to be what passed for nobility in werewolf circles anwyays.

“And you think me showing you my fangs is to scare you?” Gladiolus snorted, shaking his head and leaning back against the wall.Â
“We were having a good time. I was thinking of feeding on you, when the night started. By the time you invited me back here and we were still getting along, well. I like you.
