wingbeats vibrate through the air, red scales twisting and shimmering as the great blood wyrm descends through the sky, feather-soft clouds split and left sundered in his wake. Ā a serpentine tail skims the water as caraxes drops low, the unique high-pitched whistle of his roar announcing his arrival to anyone within earshot. Ā aerion is laughing as the beast lurches to the side, the most delighted he's ever sounded, drifting along the outskirts of the cliff side as they circle to land.
the ground shakes upon contact, the dragon's unique physique never lending itself to a graceful landing. Ā Ā but neither dragon nor rider care, not when the target of aerion's attention comes into view.
ā cousin, ā the secondborn princeling grins by way of greeting, teeth too sharp in the midday sun. Ā despite the short cropped length of his hair, it's windswept within an inch of its life, adding to that element of targaryen madness that always seems to cling to aerion's skin. Ā both dragon and human Ā ( if aerion can truly be considered such ) Ā eyes are locked onto valarr, the mare he rides ā Ā a steady thing she is, to her credit. Ā she doesn't baulk at the sight of caraxes, her hooves firm beneath her as she shifts, leathers creaking.
ā the ground suits you, ā Ā spoken with the smooth silkiness of a compliment, but they both know it's not. Ā aerion doesn't bother to drop down from his saddle, to put himself on valarr's level, instead leaning forward against the pommel with a carefree air. Ā caraxes' whistle ripples through the world again as if in amusement.
ā fancy a race ? or is that pampered mule of yours simply not up to the task ? ā
