Japanese animation loves their humans with animal ears, but these characters are always just regular people who happen to have ears and a tail. Mostly/basically. I started wondering: What if dogman is not mostly human, but dogman is mostly dog. How would humanity deal with something so cringe, because most of us just aren't charmed by seeing puppy play and the likes in action. We're vertical monkeys, it objectively doesn't look cool. We're built to eat the banana, shoot the gun, and go "ook ook". So, would the average civilian be kind to these "dogs" if they suddenly showed up? Would other people go overboard with it and basically turn them into human slaves, except not really, because they're dogs after all? I picked a cute art style to best represent these difficult questions.
